Question 8: What was the warm up or sketchbook assignment that you learned the most from? 1. I learned the most from the proportions of the face warm-up that we did. This warm-up really helped me because using the proportions such as a head is 5 eyes wide helped me make a person that actually looked realistic. Before this class the people I drew typically looked like stick figures and this helped me draw something that looked much more realistic. From this warm-up I also learned that you can make a face out of general shapes and after erasing the unwanted lines it can look like the clean and finished object you want it to look like. Question 13: What did you find the most difficult about this class? What could be done to resolve this issue in the future? 2. The most difficult thing for me was working with clay. I had never used it before this class and I didn't like how my projects turned out because they either looked very rushed or the glaze colors did not turn out how I wanted them. In my opinion it was very hard to shape the clay just how you wanted it so for the clay projects I usually just sent them to the kiln even if they weren't exactly what I wanted them to look like. In the future I should ask for help if I'm unsure how to do a particular thing or I should work on the clay piece until I am sure it is what I want it to be. Question 20: Was there a tool you had never used before and learned in this class? What was it and how did you use it?
3. Before this project I had never used a linoleum cutter, and it was definitely not as easy as the youtube videos made it look. It was a very hard tool to use because if your hand slipped you accidentally cut the wrong part of your piece off it could not be fixed easily. For my linocut print I chose to do a butterfly with a floral background. It was not an easy tool to use, but if I could use it again I would because I think it could look really good if you had more experience.

1. I just got my piece out of the kiln. It came out all in one piece, the only thing that fell off was a small pearl, but I can glue that back on later in the process. I am now planning to paint the piece and that is going to make it colorful. I like the appearance of the glaze on the piece so I am painting all of the pieces that are three-dimensional in a clear glaze so they will be shiny. When it comes back out of the kiln for the second time I am planning to paint over the glazed parts with acrylic paints so it will look not only shiny but colorful as well. Once my piece is glazed and painted I will be finished with my piece.
